About The Counselor

I’m Dr. Nick Patras. I’m a licensed professional counselor, supervisor for LPC-Associates, National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained counselor. I have extensive training in couples counseling including Level I and Level II Gottman Couples Therapy.

I have over 14 years of experience working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, and career-focused concerns. First responders (Police, Fire, and EMS) as well as veterans and active-duty personnel receive specialized care from someone who understands their unique roles and needs.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication from St. Edward’s University in Austin, a Master of Science degree in Community Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with an emphasis in marriage and family counseling from East Texas A&M University (formerly Texas A&M University-Commerce). I am a proud U.S. Army veteran and former first responder. I serve as the consulting clinician for the Paris EMS Peer Support Team.
